A community built on faith, knowledge, and love
Marifat means gnosis — the deep knowing of God. It is the pursuit that shapes everything we do.
Founded in 2023 by the Afghan Shia community of Fort Worth
Marifat Center was established in 2023 by the Afghan Shia community of Fort Worth — a group of families united by a single dream: to build a permanent home for worship, learning, and service here in North Texas.
What began as neighbors gathering to pray and remember the Ahlul Bayt عليهم السلام has grown into a devoted community. As its founders, we carry both the responsibility and the honor of laying this foundation — for ourselves, and for the generations of children who will grow up rooted in faith in North America.
Today we come together for our children's Islamic education, the majalis of Muharram, the nights of Ramadan and Laylatul Qadr, and the milestones of family life. Our shared goal is to build a mosque and community center that serves every need of our people — a place to worship, to learn, and to help one another.
Our Mission
To build a permanent mosque and community center for the Shia community of North Texas — a welcoming home for worship and Islamic learning that nurtures faith in our children and serves our neighbors in the spirit of the Ahlul Bayt عليهم السلام.
Our Vision
A thriving, connected Shia community in North Texas where every generation is rooted in knowledge (marifat), grounded in worship, and generous in service to all of humanity.
Our values
Knowledge
We hold learning as worship — from Qur'an and the teachings of the Imams to the questions of everyday faith.
Worship
Prayer is the pillar of our community. Our doors open for every salah and every sacred night of the year.
Service
Following Imam Ali عليه السلام, we serve the vulnerable, support families in need, and welcome the stranger.
Unity
We build bridges within our community and with our neighbors of all faiths across North Texas.
Family
The next generation is our trust. We invest in children and youth so faith carries forward with joy.
Compassion
From celebration to grief, we walk beside our members with dignity, mercy, and steadfast care.
